RefuBees and the City

The TUDelft Urban Ecology Lab is an active member of the global Eco-cities network and recently chaired the biennial Ecocity World Summit in Rotterdam in 2022.

The pollination crisis and the eco-city: an overlooked but critical issue

To contribute with maximum impact within our constraints, we have directed significant attention by focusing on the pollination crisis. Remarkably, this critical issue has been overlooked in the context of EcoCities and we aim to establish its permanent presence within this framework.

Building a European interdisciplinary network: working together to tackle the challenge

Due to its utmost significance, we are presently in the process of establishing a European and interdisciplinary network, a consortium that unites experts and scholars who share a common commitment to address this pressing challenge.

Social networks and their influence: How complex relationships shape our thinking

In a parallel analogy to the interconnected neural networks in the brain, our society forms intricate networks of social and professional relationships. These networks encompass connections among individuals, groups, and communities, adding layers of complexity to human thought processes and interactions. Information spreading in these networks is similar to how we learn and acquire knowledge.

Multidisciplinary approach to applying network knowledge: Combining knowledge from different areas

Interacting with others helps exchange information, ideas, and perspectives, enhancing our collective understanding. To practically apply these insights about knowledge networks, brain architecture, and real-world networks, a multidisciplinary approach is needed, combining knowledge from various fields.
