He leads the Urban Ecology and Ecocities Lab at Delft University of Technology, holding positions as a Research Fellow in Urban Ecology and a Professor in the Landscape Architecture section. Until recently, he served on the advisory board for the sustainable development initiative of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with Solideo. Currently, he is a member of the Scientific Board of NL Greenlabel. 

In addition, he holds the position of Vice President at the World Council on City Data and is a Senior Fellow at the Global Cities Institute of the University of Toronto in Canada. His notable contributions include chairing the 2022 Ecocities World Summit in Rotterdam, a pivotal event focusing on sustainable urban development.
