Education and BeeCircus
Learning at the totem.
Children look for the bee, see which flowers she visits and share their photos. Anyone who has seen a bee for themselves does not forget her.

For schools
A lesson in three steps.
Nature education works best when children see themselves as part of nature, and as someone who can make a difference. That is why the lesson begins outdoors, at the totem.
Searching
The printed paving stone by the totem tells you which bee lives here, and that wild bees do not make honey.
Watching and catching
Children observe which flowers the bee visits and “catch” her with a photo.
Sharing
The photos go on the totem’s page. In this way the class helps with the research.
BeeCircus
A circus tent for 35 people, on wheels.
The mobile BeeCircus unfolds in no time into an intimate circus space with a stage, right next to a totem. With “infotainment”, spectators become participants: they sign the bee pact and take part in the opening of the totem.
The BeeCircus is for all ages, and shows with radical imagination that another city is possible.

Students make the city.
With students from HKU we created an intervention on an Amsterdam square. At the AMS conference “Reinventing the City”, a student approached Hans with a story of their own.
